A total of 500 riders will be allowed to participate in this event regulated by the Colorado State Patrol. Using a series of five (5) waves, first three will be further divided into subgroups of 3-5 riders released from Rio Grande Park at 30 second intervals based on estimated speed, strength, and conditioning. Those interested in being in the last two waves are encouraged to participate in the "Ride for The Pass" event that takes place on Saturday May 22, 2010, a benefit for the Independence Pass Foundation.
If you know of one or two other riders that spin at your pace, we strongly encourage you to come as a group. Should you ride faster than your friends, choose the wave at the pace of your SLOWEST rider.

In order to ensure that all riders remain safe and have a fun experience in both directions, the waves are designed to eliminate clusters. Riders may only ride two abreast when given clear line of site of all existing vehicles so that a faster rider can still pass within the lane limits. Single file riding will be strictly enforced in all hazardous situations.
SAG wagons will be utilized to pick up all riders who have not passed the Indy Ghost Aid Station by 10:30 AM.
All riders will be gathered atop of Independence Pass until the last participant reaches the summit. Motorized vehicles will then be escorted thought and given sufficient lead time to ensure there are no conflicts with the decending riders. Again, all riders will be released in a series of waves that total no more that 20-25 participants.
